"One close shave"

Films: Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007)

Alias: Benjamin Barker

Type: Natural

Location: Civilized Area

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: From the prestigious stages of musical theatre to the silver screen. Not always a smooth transition. But in some cases, it's just right. And it can certainly become more extreme if the tragic tale of Sweeney Todd is anything to go by.

History: Benjamin Barker could only watch as his life was destroyed in front of him, with the corrupt judge Turpin exiling him so that he could rape his wife, and plan on marrying his daughter. Barker came back as Sweeney Todd in order to get revenge, posing as a barber alongside his unhinged neighbor Mrs. Lovett. However, one unsuccessful murder later, Todd decides to kill anyone who dares take a shave from him, dumping their bodies into the basement where Lovett turns them into meat pies.

Notable Kills: Bashing someone's head in with a kettle. Also, see Final Fate.

Final Fate: After violently finishing off Turpin, Sweeney realizes in horror that the woman he had just killed earlier was his wife, and Lovett had tricked him into thinking she was dead. In a rage, he tosses Lovett into her own oven to burn her to death, and allows someone to slash his throat in suicidal sorrow.

Powers/Abilities: None.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 3-Todd is a very sympathetic killer, we'll give him that. But a killer is still a killer, and while this guy has a nice singing voice, that doesn't change how he turns any unlucky patrons into pies after violently putting that razor to use.

Trivia: -The composer for the original play, Stephen Sondheim, has gone on record stating that this film is the only adaptation that he believes was the most faithful to his vision.

-Over the course of this film's development, a slew of different actors was considered for Sweeney before they settled on Johnny Depp. These included Tim Curry, Harrison Ford (?!), Jack Nicolson, Al Pacino, and more.

But always flay, it seems.

So much for future visits.
Remember. Married man.

What? Did he figure out the twist early?
Well, that's 7 MORE years of bad luck.
